Nikkei Horizons in Action

Instructor Appreciation Luncheon

Retiring Nikkei Horizons Japanese instructor Miyoko Kaneta received recognition from Nikkei Manor Manager Rie Taki and Nikkei Concerns CEO Jeffrey Hattori for her 15 years of dedication to her students.

The other instructors enjoyed a delicious lunch, exciting raffle prizes, words of heartfelt appreciation, and a sense of belonging to something important.

As a thank you for all of the fascinating, exciting, educational, novel, and fun experiences that the Nikkei Horizons instructors provide, students and instructors entertained the group with minyo dance, singing, ukulele, and hula.

The group also was privileged to see a Ryurei-style seated chanoyu (tea ceremony).

The Seattle Keiro Dietary Department provided a fabulous meal for the 40+ guests.

Many thanks to all of our honored instructors! You give Nikkei Horizons its incredible diversity, adventure, creativity, and fun that keeps our minds and bodies healthy and strong. Because of you, Nikkei Horizons offered 252 programs in the 2011/2012 school year.

If you have a talent or skill you would like to share with others, please consider joining Nikkei Horizons as a volunteer instructor! Contact Rie Taki, Nikkei Horizons Manager, at 206.726.6469 or rtaki@nikkeiconcerns.org.
